The Day Niagra Falls Ran Dry
by leavingwt inthere are some fascinating photos (and a video) at the news link below that i had never seen.
take a look, if you'd like to know what niagra falls looks like with no water.
it's taken 41 years, but a previously unseen set of photos of the mighty niagara falls reduced to nothing more than a barren cliff-top have finally surfaced.. the stark images reveal north america's iconic - and most powerful - waterfall to be almost as dry as a desert.. in june 1969, u.s. engineers diverted the flow of the niagara river away from the american side of the falls for several months.. .

March kool-aid edition available ...
by wannabefree inmarch "study" edition is available for download at jw(dot)org.
first article "do not deceive yourselves with false reasonings" ... does a good job at blaming the individual witness for losing a sense of urgency ... surely the organization has no culpability for this.. the bible also warns about the danger of deceiving ourselves with false reasoning.'-jas.1:22..
a wrong view of the timing of the divine purpose could lead us to lose sightof the importance of our spiritual activities and become sidetracked with personal interests.. (zech.

Page 11 paragraph 21:
"The faithful and discreet slave" has helped us to have time for personal and family study by arranging for a Family Worship evening each week. (Matt. 24:45)
WOW! Talk about chutzpah! They are the ones that took that time away in the first place - in addition to all the other time they take.

Books have been a profit making tool for Russell, Ruthorford, and the GB. Unless you think they believed their own writings.

JW's don't love Jehovah
by Mad Dawg inour actions, wants, and desires are determined by what we hold most precious.
we will sacrifice one thing for another depending how they rank on our personal totem pole.
i have a cousin that became a jw - which brought me to this board.

Not to be contrary, I think that it is a matter of priorities. JW's are more concerned about what is in it for them than any notion of loving Jehovah.
BTW, where are the apologists?

BUT, if you ask the flight attendant for this Reuben, what will happen?
A big mama beatdown from one of the Elders.
Exactly. Don't the Elders supposedly love Jehovah more than the others in the congregation? If they loved Him, why don't they long to see Him? Even if they don't think they ever could?

On an airline, my only option may indeed be roast beef, but I will still long for a Rueben.

Our actions, wants, and desires are determined by what we hold most precious. We will sacrifice one thing for another depending how they rank on our personal totem pole. I have a cousin that became a JW - which brought me to this board. His reason? He wants to believe that he will see his dad again. I don't fault him there.
Thing is, when questioned "Wouldn't you rather go to Heaven?" The answer is "no". JW's would rather stay on earth with their loved ones and pet the tigers than go to Heaven to be with the god they claim to love above all else. Yes, the correct response is "But we can't go to Heaven anyways." But do you want to? I had a JW say to me once, "Why would I want to?" How can they claim to love Him if they have no desire to see Him?
